My role is to manage the Policy and Participation Team working with the networkers to support the thematic networks listed below and their representatives in decision making processes. I also co-ordinate policy research with the team and our organisation of the Voice structure for the networks and sector.

I work with the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities across Tameside, capacity building and providing support to groups. I also manage the BME and BME women’s Network

Colin Kirby

Policy and Participation Officer - Older people/Crime and Disorder reduction

I support the Crime and Disorder Reduction Network and the Tameside Older People's Advisory Group (TOPAG) networks and have responsibility for the borough wide Community Development workers meetings and networks with a wide variety of groups across the Borough.

I facilitate Faiths United (Tameside) which is the interfaith network committed to developing friendship, mutual understanding and respect through dialogue, networking and joint action by members of faith communities for the benefit of the whole community.

Veronica Hyde

I work with people who work with families, teenagers and young adults. I facilitate Tameside Community Union –who represent the community, voluntary and faith sector at decision making level. I am a representative at Tameside’s Local Safeguarding Board and the Play Strategy group which feed into the Tameside Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership.
 
Azzam Sheikh
Policy and Participation Officer - Drugs and Diversity

My role is to increase the take-up of mainstream drug and alcohol services by minority communities in Tameside. I work with service providers and local communities towards overcoming barriers. I identify and work with minority communities in Tameside who are under-represented in local services. More on Diversity Development work

My role is to manage the Support and Development Team and co-ordinate all enquiries from groups looking for help with getting your group set up, finding funding, developing your committee, getting the right policies and procedures, training or any other issues.

I’m the Community Development Worker for Denton South. I’m here to give general support to groups including advice on funding, training, capacity building and any other support to enable groups to run.
