The
LINk's exciting launch event
The LINk will be holding its
launch event at Hyde Town Hall on Thursday 12 March. There will be a
number of workshops, plus stalls giving health and social care information and
advice, and free health checks! There will also be a Health Question Time with
local health and social care professionals taking your questions.
The LINk has real powers which will make it a strong and effective voice for the
local community and the people who run your local services have to listen to
what it says, meaning you really CAN make a difference.
To find out more, to get involved or to register for the launch event,

TASCA Autism Awareness Day
TASCA (Tameside Action for Social Communication and Autism support group) is holding an autism awareness open day on Thursday 2 April 9:30am - 4pm at Dukinfield Town Hall in the Jubilee room.
This open day is to promote
the
services and support on autism available to parents
and carers alike. This would also be a great opportunity
for professionals to find out more on autism to help and support children
living within Tameside.
For more information on this event contact Valerie Bayley
on 07931466417.
Topaz@Mind Well Being Centre
Customer focus day
Wednesday 1 April 2009, 5pm
- 7pm at 216-218 Katherine Street, Ashton under
Lyne, OL6 7AS
So what do you think of us? Here is an opportunity to
let us know in a variety of ways what we do well and where we could do better.
Topaz@Mind the Well Being Centre opened just under a year ago. The aim of
the new centre was
to be as attractive as possible to the people of Tameside
and Glossop and to dispel the myth that Mind is only for people with serious
mental illnesses. We reckoned that if at the minimum 1 in 4 people are likely to
experience mental health problems then we need to be available to anyone and
everyone. So we now provide a range of things that are proven to be beneficial
to reduce stress, anxiety and depression and improve our self esteem, confidence
and well being. These include a vegetarian cafe, internet access, dance and
movement studio, art studio, training rooms and a dedicated 1-2-1 and
counselling suite.
If we are going to improve and continue to offer stuff that really makes a
difference to improving peoples lives then we need to know from you what you
think.
So on Wednesday the 1 April (yeah, we know, April Fool’s Day) between 5pm - 7pm
we will be opening our doors so we can learn from you. Pop in whenever you want.
Our award winning cafe will be providing a free buffet with a range of delicious
savouries and tempting homemade cakes.
You can then choose to just settle into the cafe for an informal chat; tell us
your views creatively in the art and dance studios, attend a more formal
discussion chaired by the member of the Executive Committee or meet the Director
in a private room.
Whether you have used us once, every day or never heard of us, we really want to
know your opinions. Free chocolate cake...
