Funding Bulletin and advice from T3SC

Here is our latest compiled Funding Bulletin for October.

Health is for Life Community Grant Scheme – Round Two now open for applications

Priorities/details:
£15,889 was awarded to successful applicants in Round 1 – but don’t panic there’s still £34,111 available! Funding is available to develop new projects that will help improve the health of local people in Tameside and Glossop.
Who for? Health is for Life grants are aimed at community groups, voluntary sector organisations and schools within the Primary Care Trust's boundaries.
Grant amount: Grants up to £5,000 can be used to support a wide range of different activities but must have a clear link to health.
Deadline: Friday 10 October 2008 (results will be announced in early December).

Fairshare Funding for Droylsden

The next round for funding for the Fairshare panel will be held in early October and the theme is Environmental issues.

Transport grants available

GMPTA and GMPTE together with Mott MacDonald currently provide five grants:

1. Small Travel Grants - £150 per year for elderly and disabled groups to undertake a one off trip within Greater Manchester or within 10 miles of the boundary

2. Travel Support Aid - £250 for 13 weeks to individuals who cannot travel by any other means

3. Community Transport Trust - total budget of £150,000 for Community Transport operators in Greater Manchester to implement innovative projects.

4. Public Transport Access Grants/ Travel Training - funding given to organisations to implement travel training projects 5. Shopmobility Publicity and Training - grants awarded to Shopmobility schemes - £300 publicity and £150 for training
