Free Training!
NEXT: Raising Awareness for Safeguarding Adults
8 October, 12 – 2pm
Do you work with adults, adults with a physical or learning disability
or
older people? Would you know what to do if you suspected they were being
abused and how to spot abuse? If not, then come along to this session to
learn more.
Outcomes training
6 November, 10am – 1pm
What are they and how to go about measuring them to prove to funders,
commissioners and others the difference your organisation is making!
Management Committee Skills Training
11 November, 10am – 2pm
A one-day course covering the roles and responsibilities of a committee,
the Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and other committee members and how to
run successful meetings. A great course for anyone who is new to
committees or someone who wants a refresher course and pick up new skills
and tips!

Tendering training
Secrets of Successful Tendering
15 October, 10am - 4pm, St Thomas Centre, Manchester
Effective tendering requires an understanding of the legislative and
practical background within which procurement is currently taking place
and the processes which drive the tendering procedures.

Tendering as a Consortium
5 November, 10am - 4pm, St Thomas Centre, Manchester
It is a general view that tendering as a consortium will provide a route
to contracting for the delivery of services. It is important that
potential consortium leaders and member organisations understand the
systems and procedures which purchasers expect to be in place, how to
minimise risk and how to assure purchasers that the contract will be
delivered as specified. This one day focused training event will give
you the insider information necessary to meet requirements.

Communities in Space: The Final Frontier
How to make your community
hub accessible and welcoming to all
Thursday 27 November, 10.30am – 3pm at GMCVO, St Thomas Centre,
Manchester
This is a special FREE event for volunteers and workers from Greater
Manchester's community hubs. A hub is a place of neighbourhood activity,
it could be community building, space, centre, facility or any other
place run by a not-for-profit group.

of everyone in your community?

Find out how to reach new groups and
extend your service?

Learn some tricks of the marketing
trade?
There will be a focus on ways to make sure your hub is accessible,
welcoming and open to everyone in your community. There will be
practical workshops and tools to take away with you, expert speakers and
case studies, networking opportunities, information sharing and more.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Places are free but must be
booked in advance.
