Summer Fair
15 June, Markazi Jamia Mosque
There is to be a Summer Fair at the Markazi Jamia Mosque (Newton St,
Ashton) on Sunday 15 June from 11am - 3pm. Guest of Honour is The Mayor
of Tameside. Admission 50p/under 5's go free. Activities inc. food,
games, hair and beauty, BBQ, spicy food, Bouncy Castle, Henna.

Ashton Parish news
Ashton’s new Parish of the Good Shepherd will be
inaugurated and commissioned at 4pm on Sunday, 29 June by the Bishop
of Middleton at St Michael and All Angels Church.
The new Parish is made of the five Anglican churches around the Ashton town
centre – St Peter’s, St Gabriel’s, St James’ Holy Trinity and St
Michael’s. At the same service two new Deacons will be welcomed,
following their Ordination at the Cathedral in the morning.
People from all faith's are invited to this event.
There will be an organ recital at 12 noon on Saturday, 7 June at
St Michael and All Angels in Ashton. This month’s organist is Andrew
Wilshire from The Most Holy Trinity Church in Blackley. Entrance is
free.
Ashton’s annual Walks of Witness will take place round the town
centre on 15 June with a service on the Old Cross Street car park at 3pm.

Cricket tournament
Wednesday 18 June, 10am, Flowery Field Cricket
Club
Go
along to the Hyde Police Station
cricket tournament at Flowery Field Cricket Club, Throstlerbank Street,
Hyde.
The competition is for primary schools and teams will be attending from
Godley Primary, Bradley Green, Flowery Field, St Paul's, and Leigh
Primary.
Last year was a great success and everyone enjoyed the day and we hope
this year will be just as good if not better.
