Volunteer Awards Celebration
5 June
2008
Volunteers’
Week 1-7 June 2008 will see a celebration at Ashton Town Hall in
recognition of the contribution of local volunteers.
2008 is the first year the Volunteer Award scheme has been organised in
partnership with Volunteer Centre Tameside, Tameside Metropolitan
Borough Council and Tameside 3rd Sector Coalition in order to recognise
the commitment and achievements of local volunteers.
Andy Hoyle from Tameside Radio will provide music and
also be Master of Ceremony for the evening. Volunteer led groups that
reflect the diverse talents of our local communities will provide
entertainment.
Bronze (100 hours), silver (200 hours) and gold certificates (500 hours)
will be awarded to volunteers in recognition of their work with an
organisation and certificates will also be awarded for outstanding or
extraordinary achievements.
Visit
www.tamesidevb.org.uk/recognition to register your organisation
online. We'll send you time sheets for your volunteers to fill in and
you simply need to send those to us when an award level is reached and
we'll do the rest.
Do any of your volunteers have hidden talents? If so, there may be the
opportunity to showcase them.
They don’t need to be stars of the screen or stage but they do need to
be currently volunteering and confident about performing in public. We
are also looking for volunteer led groups who may also be able to
provide entertainment on the evening. We would like the entertainment to
reflect the diversity
of Tameside Communities so if you know of anyone,
please get in touch with us.
