Crime and Disorder Network meeting
18 June, 2pm - 4pm at T3SC
Contact Colin Kirby at
colin.kirby@t3sc.org
The Crime and Disorder network have
moved their meeting forward to Wednesday 18 June 2008 to allow the
Network sufficient time to agenda any issues for discussion onto the
Crime and Disorder Partnership. They need two or three weeks notice for
items to be included on their agenda. The Network hopes this will not
inconvenience any members but if you have any comments please pass them
on to Colin who will forward them to the Chair, Geoff Roebuck for
response.
For Information Bill Ormsby has been selected to represent the Crime and
Disorder Network on the newly created Acquisitive Crime Group. This
group is a merger between the Burglary Theme Group and the Vehicle Crime
Group and it will devote its attention to issues relating to burglary,
vehicle crime and robbery.

The
unmet needs of African families seminar

by TAFWA (Tameside African Families Welfare Association) - 29 May
2008, 10.30a.m. – 4p.m at Dukinfield Town Hall, King Street,
Dukinfield
African saying: 'It is hard for mountain to reach families so
families are climbing the mountain to have a summit'
This is a ground-breaking seminar, pulling together mainstream bodies in

demonstrate their intentions and good practice by having a direct
dialogue with hard to reach community.
Themes:
-
Challenges facing policy makers and
mainstream bodies: the growing population of unreachable African
communities and families in Tameside?
-
Investment in African community
knowledge and experience as a vital resource that can provide added
value to the social, cultural and economic life of Tameside.
-
Reinforcing recognition of
interdependency in the local authority departments: The integration and
inclusion of minority ethnic people into the workforce i.e. education,
cultural heritage and businesses
Audiences:
Professionals and representatives of Tameside Mainstream bodies in the
Voluntary, Public and Private sectors, Police and Economic development
agencies - Groups and individuals of African and other communities.
